Can A Deaf Dog Bark?

When folks meet Nitro for the first time, and learn that he is 100% deaf and see how well behaved and quiet he is they always ask the same question "does he know how to bark?" So I thought I would share this video with all of you to enjoy. Not only does Nitro bark when our dog Bailey ignores him (and Nitro wants to play and won't take no for an answer), but he also barks when he is exhausted like a small child having a tantrum when he hasn't had his nap. His bark is very loud because he can't hear himself. See for yourself and tell me what you think.

  1. Rowdy whines when he is tired or feeling ignored. He barks but not as loud as Nitro. He's more apt to give a small boof or buf sound. I don't know what the norm is for boxers... just know that I love the breed.

    Nitro is such a sweetie.

  5. They are cute together. Bailey's definitely comes out louder, I think.
