Saturday Pet Blogger Hop - The Birds of Bluebird Farm

Lexi, Nitro, Tallulah, Bailey, and I are excited to participate in this weeks Saturday Pet Blogger Hop. Special Thanks goes out to our Pet Blog Hop hosts, Life With DogsTwo Little Cavaliers, and Confessions of the Plume! If you would like to read some entertaining pet blogger posts in the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop, just click on one of the host links above or click on the purple Pet Blogger Hop button on the right side of our homepage.

This Saturday's Pet Blogger post is about the Birds of Bluebird Farm but I did want to share a video my husband Chris shot today of Nitro playing "King of The Hill" at the City of Salem Dog Park (and maybe just a couple of photos also). This is less then 1:30. Enjoy!

The Birds of Bluebird Farm
This week I have had a crazy Eastern Bluebird hitting my office window all day long in hopes of protecting his nest from what he sees as a threat when he is really just attacking his reflection. The good news is he was so close I got some decent shots of him. I also got some shots from my Android that I would like to share with all of you.

The following three photos I took with my Android Camera phone.

The bird is like "HELLO! I know your in there!"

He kept hitting the window and every time he hit the window all four dogs would bark.

The Mourning Doves are so beautiful but sometimes I forget they are eating seeds off the ground by my side doorway. Many times I will walk out to go to get into my car and there will be six to ten of these birds on the ground eating. It never fails, I forget they are around the corner in the first place, then WHAM!..they fly off in a full flock and  give me a heart attack every single time! Darn birds!

Gosh Darn it! I almost had him! These woodpeckers are so illusive I can never get a good shot and wouldn't you know it I cut his head off in the only shot I got of him before he flew off never to return again.

Have a great weekend everyone. Thanks so much for "hopping by"..love ya..mean it! Lexi, Christina, Tallulah, Nitro and Bailey dog.

  1. These are great shots! And a lovely assortment of birds.

I've had a Cardinal doing your Bluebird routine in my yard for the last several years. Not too bright that one. LOL re: the doves, they scare the devil out of me all the time, too. We have one nesting in the tree outside our front door this year. I'm beginning to understand where the phrase bird-brain comes from. ;)

    Happy weekend!
