3 Boxketeers- Deaf Dogs Rock - Chicago Wedding - Saturday Pet Blogger Hop

Lexi, Nitro, Tallulah, Bailey, and I are excited to participate in this weeks Saturday Pet Blogger Hop. Special Thanks goes out to our Pet Blog Hop hosts, Life With DogsTwo Little Cavaliers, and Confessions of the Plume! If you would like to read some entertaining pet blogger posts in the Saturday Pet Blogger Hop, just click on one of the host links above or click on the badge to the right with the animals circling the Earth that reads The Saturday Pet Blogger Hop. Happy Hopping!

It was a crazy week this week with over 1500 photos to upload in just one week's time. The first set of photos on our post today were taken at the Salem Dog Park. As usual they are photos of Nitro and his two buddies Ozzy and Loki. I have a new name for these crazy boys and it is "The Three Boxketeers". I think it's a fitting name for their little "pack".

Chris and I are going to the Woofstock Dog festival today (Saturday June 2, 2012) so we had to get prepared to promote our other website Deaf Dogs Rock. We decided it was time to get some of our DDR logos on our rescue transport SUV and also so it would look great for Woofstock when we set up next to our DDR tent. It's kind of like driving around in a big billboard. Check out our new logos below.

We also asked the RVSPCA if they could have someone bring Evan one of their shelter dogs who happens to be a 9 month old DEAF boxer mix puppy (see Evan's collage below) to our Deaf Dogs Rock tent today. We wanted Evan to come and hang out with us so we could get him more exposure so maybe he will be adopted soon.

I also flew to Chicago last week for my niece's wedding. Below are some photos from my Chicago trip. Chicago is an amazing city and I had a blast sight seeing and hanging out with my family. I hope you enjoy my photos and get a feel for what a crazy exciting week I had. Happy Summer!

Deaf Dogs Rock and Nitro at Woofstock This Year

Nitro, Chris and I are so excited our friend Waynette invited us to Woofstock this year. It takes place today at Elmwood Park in Roanke, VA. We will be featuring The Celebrity Dog Tent so some of our celebrity dog friends can stop by and do "meet and greets" with the general public. We are excited that Kristin and Kickin from Dogs Rock Blog will be stopping by for a visit. We finally get to meet "Kickin" Kristin's new greyhound. We also will be introducing the general public a deaf boxer mix puppy who is only 9 months old.

The photos below are a photo collage I put together after I stopped by the RVSPCA to meet Evan. He is sweet and very smart so hopefully folks will see how special he is when they meet him. Wish us luck on Evan finding his forever home.

Our New Deaf Dogs Rock Logos on Our Transport Truck

Here are our new logos on our Deaf Dogs Rock transport car. We sometimes go out of state to bring deaf dogs back to our local shelters when they are at the point of being put to sleep at a high kill shelter. Now they know who we are and that we are coming to get their deaf dogs and we are also paying attention to what is going on with the deaf dogs in the shelters. Kelly Schulz and her husband David with the Sign Factory here in Roanoke did an amazing job!

The Chicago Wedding
My niece Tasiah on her wedding day last Saturday with her new husband J. B and some of our family members who made the trip to Chicago.

I had so much fun helping J.B's sister Marie set up the Prairie Productions Wedding Venue. Everything looked amazing!

The "blushing bride" and both of our families. What a special day it was for everyone.

The Windy City Chicago
I really got lucky with the weather when I landed in Chicago on Thursday afternoon. I was in town by 1pm so I set out on foot to see Chicago and the big Lake Michigan. It was about 73 degrees and windy. What an amazing place! My hotel The Palmer House Hilton was only 3 blocks from the lake and in every direction there are Museums and beautiful parks.

As you can see from this photo my first day in Chicago was rather windy hence the choppy waters in Lake Michigan. If I was on a boat that day I would have gotten sea sick for sure!

Beautiful sail boats in every direction!

I was shocked by the color of the water. I expected the water to be a dark green in color like a lake would normally be but it was more like the color of the water in Miami.

I loved this park that was only one block from my hotel. It was like a non-stop party all day long. There was these two huge water falls and I had so much fun just watching all the kids play under the falls.

Look at how much fun they are having...so cool!

I loved watching the little baby girl watch all the big kids getting crazy.

 Ouch....

 Summer fun!

 Lunch time...

My sister Stephanie and her husband Joe (mother and father of the bride) sight seeing down near the Navy Pier in Chicago

The Navy Pier had this adorable little dog store. I wish we had one like this here in Roanoke. I would dress Tallulah and Miss Lexi up all the time!

The Palmer House Hilton is one of the oldest Hotels in Chicago. Recently it has been fully renovated and it is one of the only Hotels in Chicago that allows a person to stay along with their large dog (up to 85 pounds). I met a couple of big dogs in the lobby.

My room was beautiful. This was a Five Star Hotel and I would love to go back and visit again some day.

When I walked into The Palmer House I was blown away by the site of the Lobby because it was so ornate and beautiful.

    1. Thank you Jet and thank your mom for the award. We had a crazy, busy fun week and Woofstock was so much fun. We also got to see Kritin, Kickin and Zoe from the Dogs Rock Blog. Now this week we will have to play catch up. I am so far behind on my horse and Deaf Dogs Rock sites that I will have to be up late every night this week. Tell your mom thanks again for giving The World According To Lexi a blog award. According to my little dog Lexi you both ROCK!
