Welcome Bud to Bluebird Farm

Since our deaf foster puppy Bud is fitting in so well here at Bluebird Farm we have decided he can stay. We had a great family picked out for him and they were very interested in Bud coming over for a visit. As I was typing a response to my friend telling her about some of his separation issues I realized maybe he wasn't the only one between the two of us who had separation anxiety issues. As I was typing it hit me like a brick, that sick feeling you get in your stomach when you don't want to let something go so I decided to face reality and keep him here on the farm.

Chris and I don't take adopting another dog decision lightly because we don't just get a puppy. We adopt a deaf puppy and and all the issues that can come from an older untrained deaf puppy. We have committed to take our new deaf puppy Bud through at least 6 months of training all the way through the AKC Canine Good Citizen training and testing. We encourage all of our Deaf Dogs Rock followers to go that extra mile when it comes to training their deaf dogs. It is one of the sure ways to beat stereo-types and misconceptions when it comes to deaf dogs.

I really feel like I just finished with all of Nitro's training (16 months straight of training Nitro) and now I am starting all over again with a new deaf puppy. I have to wonder if I am totally out of my mind crazy. Yes I must be crazy in love! Well please help me welcome Bud to our family here on the farm. Here are some photos of Bud and Nitro over the past week.

The Brothers From Other Mothers!

Nitro Turns TWO!

Our sweet friends Brian and Cherri who also own two boxers threw Nitro a Birthday Party cookout to celebrate his second Birthday. We all has such a great time. Cherri even decorated the house and I baked sweet potato muffins with peanut butter icing for the dogs to eat and celebrate. Here are some photos from Nitro's second Birthday party.

 Yummy...

 Now?  Now? Now?

 The Fabulous Five!

Bud is part of our family now. I had to rearrange a few things around the house to make more room for five dogs but now everything is falling into place. Doesn't he look like one of our "pack"?

Bud using Bailey as a pillow..

Miss Lexi was the only dog missing from the group photo above so here she is hanging out in her little bed on the couch in the living room. She is such a doll baby!

My boys...

It rained really hard for a couple of days this week and filled up the doggy pool with fresh rain water and acorns. Nitro and Bud decided they would have some fun so they played "bobbing for acorns" one day.

I love how Bud sticks his head under water!

They sure look like they are from the same litter, don't they although Nitro is 13 months older then Bud.

Bud has some breathing issues so you will notice in many of these photos his little tongue sticks out. He reminds me of Goamer Pile!

This night was a  huge breakthrough because our Shepherd mix Bailey never lets the other dogs sleep near her but look at her letting Bud use her as a pillow. We were pleasantly surprised at this photo opportunity.

Here I just  had some fun playing with some of my editing tools.

Doesn't this look like a pink waterfall?

Bud can sleep in any position. When he gets tired, that's it, he is out like a light.

Saturday Pet Blogger Hop - Our Foster Pup Bud Is Fitting Right In Here On Bluebird Farm

Lexi, Nitro, Tallulah, Bailey, and I are excited to participate in this weeks Saturday Pet Blogger Hop. Our little deaf white boxer foster puppy Bud is fitting in well here at Bluebird Farm. All four dogs have taken to him. Here are just a few photos of Bud relaxing over the past few days. Our dogs have it pretty "ruff" here on Bluebird Farm..uh...NOT!

Tallulah hanging out with her foster brother Bud. She loves Bud and tries to play with him often.

Check out Bud's position on the couch. He has his body propped up on a pillow so he can sleep with his head in the sunshine. Such a smarty pants this little one is!

I never thought I would have another dog as photogenic as my other deaf dog Nitro but Bud is right up there with Nitro good looks because the camera just loves this little boy!

 Such concern...

 Time for a nap...

"Moma stop taking my picture...I'm trying to nap moma"

His cheeks are starting to melt into the couch...

"Help me...I'm melting"...I used this photo as our T.G.I.F. photo today on our Deaf Dogs Rock Facebook Wall.

Does Bud have the most kissable lips EVER?!

The Dogs Of Bluebird Farm

Sweet Bailey has been so nice to Bud this week. They even had a game of tug of war. I am so proud of her!

Bailey is such a sweet soul.

This is my little Tallulah. She worships her ball as you can see from these photos.

She waits for me to roll it to her and then she spikes it back to me and we go back and fourth and back and fourth. She would have made and excellent volley ball player had she been born a human.

Nitro at sunset. Isn't he just striking with his beautiful blue eye?

Bud playing at the Salem Rotary Dog Park

Here is Bud hanging out at the Salem Dog Park with our friend Cherri and her two boxer boys.

He really wanted to go on the small dog park side and play with the small dogs. He came from a home with at least four small dogs so I think he misses chasing them around.

Lexi, Nitro, Bud, Tallulah, Bailey, Chris and I all wish you a Happy Weekend! Happy Hopping!
